The goal is reversed — the hand closest to a value of 9-9-9 wins rather than the highest standard hand. Card values are calculated differently, with 10/J/Q/K worth zero. One or more physical Joker cards are inserted into the deck and act as universal wild cards. Unlike Mufti where a rank is randomly chosen, the Joker card itself is the wild. Only high card hands count — pairs, sequences, trails and flushes are all treated as High Card. The player with the absolute highest single card wins each round. Before cards are dealt, every player places the mandatory boot amount into the pot. This is the starting stake that all players are committed to. On Lack 33, boot amounts start at Rs 100 and scale with the table's stake level. The boot ensures there's always something to play for from the very first card.
The dealer distributes exactly three cards face-down to each player. On Lack 33's live tables, this is done by a real dealer in real time on camera. You can choose to look at your cards (Seen) or bet without looking (Blind). Playing Blind lets you bet at half the Seen player's rate and adds psychological pressure to the table.
Starting from the player left of the dealer, each player must either Chaal (match the current bet), Raise (increase the bet) or Pack (fold). Blind players bet at half the table stake. Seen players bet at the full current stake. Betting continues around the table until only two players remain or someone calls Show.
A Seen player can request a Sideshow with the previous Seen player. Both players compare hands privately — the weaker hand must pack. The opposing player can also refuse the Sideshow request. This strategic mechanic is available on all Classic Lack 33 tables and adds a compelling layer of psychological play.
When only two players remain, either player can call Show. Both players reveal their cards and the higher-ranking hand wins the pot. If hands are equal, the player who called Show loses. The Show bet costs twice the table stake and ends the hand immediately on Lack 33 tables.
